Back on the road! Janet Jackson announces new tour

Janet Jackson State Of The World Tour Poster 2017

On the past month the Janet Jackson world turned upside down several times. After reports regarding the end of the singer’s marriage to businessman Wissam Al Mana and a wave of negativism, Janet shared the first picture of her beautiful baby boy Eissa and left the world at her feet with such cuteness.

The rumors about her return to the showbiz started to pop on media outlets worldwide a few weeks ago. For months, Ticketmaster had what we call “placeholder dates” for the Unbreakable World Tour 2017/18 on their website and database: standard protocol, since Janet said the tour wold be back, eventually. But during Easter, Live Nation has put up – and subsequently deleted – at least two dates for Janet’s return to the stage. The title? STATE OF THE WORLD TOUR, referencing her 1991 single.

On April 28th, Janet updated her website with a countdown clock. That left the fanbase very curious but now it’s official: JANET WILL BE BACK!

In this video, Janet has briefly talked about her separation and legal disputes, but also affirmed that she’ll continue her Unbreakable Tour, as promised, under a new name.

According to a press release by her team, the tour is set for a 56-city run, hitting all four corners of the USA, and it’ll feature songs from the Unbreakable album, as well as socially conscious music she has released throughout her career and soon-to-be released new tracks! We are very excited!

The only official artwork so far is this one, which shows two girls – possibly the JBabies, Kyndall and Taylor, the two dancer kids from the Unbreakable Tour – in an urban setting, with the title of the tour as graffiti on the wall. We’ve also noted that she’s added her surname to the artwork, something that hadn’t been done in a while.
