The Billboard Music Awards, scheduled for Sunday, May 20th, will feature none other than Janet Jackson. The singer, which has the most awards by any act (33), will be graced with the ICON Award, which has been offered to people who made an impact inside and outside the music industry, such as Prince and Stevie Wonder.
The show had teased the recipient of the award in a previous tweet, leading fans to speculate this could be about Janet, and today the confirmation came.

This will be Janet’s first televised performance in 8 years, the first since she was on the 2010 American Idol finale. Following the award, Jackson will embark on a series of Summer festivals, leading up to the continuation of her critically-acclaimed State Of The World Tour.
