Pop queen Janet Jackson announced a few hours ago the shutdown of her Unbreakable World Tour. The concert series started last August in Vancouver and, despite great reviews and audience/critical alamance, came a long way between mysterious cancellations, postponed and rescheduled dates.
But this morning, Janet shared a video message on her social media channels thanking her crew, band, dancers and Live Nation, after saying she will have to put her show on hold for a while. The reason? Miss Jackson is having a baby! The 49 star stated: “My husband and I are planning our family. So I’m gonna have to delay the tour.” Janet married business magnate Wissam Al Mana back in 2012.
Hear it from Janet’s lips…
No additional information was yet given about how things will go from here. Last year, BMG exec Jon Cohen said they had a three-year plan with Janet. That it wasn’t just about this record, but a larger plan was supposed to go well beyond music. Last week Janet released UNBREAKABLE on vinyl and was working on a new music video, directed by Dave Meyers, shooted last month in Los Angeles.
The star also thanked her fans for their love and support through the years and asked for ours comprehension: “Please, if you can, try and understand that it’s important that I do this now… I have to rest up, doctor’s orders, but I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.”
Congratulations, Janet! As your fans, we are very happy and excited for you and your husband.
Love from Brazil,
